Sushi Sunday

Well, I did put my new skills to the test on Sunday. I went to 2 different Asian food markets on Sat morning to pick up some supplies. I had not made sushi for awhile, so I was low on a lot of the goodies I needed to make some rolls. I also love to cruise through the Asian markets to find new things to try. This trip I picked up some green tea coated pumpkin seeds that are to die for. Talk about addicting stuff here! I also picked up a bag of some green tea candies, but haven't dove into that bag yet. One treat at a time! I ended up making about 8-9 different rolls of sushi for BREAKFAST on Sunday.
Logan had a friend over (Kyle) who even tried a piece. The piece made it into his mouth for about a second and back out into his hand. He mentally couldn't get over the nori (seaweed) taste/texture. Boy, that's more for me then!
I made some 'dessert' rolls with mango in them that were so good. The sweet mango was a great twist that I'll have to try again. I hosted a Pampered Chef party a million years ago, and got a freebie that I finally put to use. It was a handy microwave rice cooker that is my new favorite kitchen tool. And better yet, it was free to me!
The second market I went to had some fresh (yes, raw) tuna that was very good and smooth on the palate. Yum! I will make some again soon and will take some photos next time, I promise.
