At the beginning of August, Jeff had a trip planned to Chicago for a school conference there. He was having to make the trip and pay for a hotel, so Logan and I decided to tag along and have a mini vacation while we were there. None of us had been to Chicago before to enjoy all the sites. Most times we are just driving through to the airport or back. We had a pretty fun filled time there and managed to visit the Shed Aquarium, the Field House, and the Planetarium all in ONE day! Our feet were so sore and we were able to get some great photos along the way too. We really fell in love with the aquatic life at the Shed. We were able to see a couple of the star shows at the Planetarium that were pretty cool too. The best thing was the real mummies they had at the Field House. There were quite a few people in the exhibit, but we were able to get up close to a few of them. There was even a baby mummy that was a little creepy. The longest legs I've ever had too, by the way!
On our way home from Chicago, we went through Milwaukee to get Jeff laser surgery on his eyes. He said it was an experience like no other and he looks great without his glasses. He still finds himself reaching for his glasses from time to time. Hard to re-train yourself sometimes.
